UUPAY Project
A multi-currency financial platform that connects savings, UU Coins, and currency exchange in one experience. I focused on making complex financial relationships easier to understand and helping users clearly see how their savings could translate into usable value.
Overview
UUPAY is a currency exchange platform designed to help users manage multiple currency accounts, understand their overall balances, and complete currency conversions with greater clarity and confidence. The platform also includes UU Coins, which users can earn through savings and convert into different currencies.
This creates a more complex financial experience, where users need to understand exchange rates, account balances, savings, and the value of their UU Coins before deciding how to manage or convert their funds.
In this project, I focused on simplifying the information architecture and currency exchange flow, while making the relationship between savings, UU Coins, and currency conversion easier to understand. Through iterative design and testing, I translated complex financial information into a clear, structured experience, prioritizing information hierarchy, transparency, and streamlined interactions throughout the product.

01. The Challenge
Business Problem
UUPAY combines savings, UU Coins, and multi-currency exchange in one experience. Users can earn UU Coins based on their savings period and convert a portion of them into different currencies.
The challenge was not simply showing more financial information, but making the relationship between savings, UU Coins, and currency conversion easy to follow. Users needed to understand what they had earned, what it was worth, and what would happen when they converted it.
I focused on creating a clearer information hierarchy and a more straightforward conversion flow, so users could move from checking their rewards to completing an exchange without having to work through unnecessary steps or guess at the final value.

Essential account information and financial value are prioritized so users can quickly understand their balances, savings, and available value.
The conversion process was refined to reduce unnecessary steps and decision points, making it easier for users to move from reviewing their available value to completing an exchange.
Exchange rates, conversion amounts, and relevant transaction details are presented clearly before users confirm an exchange.
Consistent layouts, interaction patterns, and feedback states create a predictable experience and reinforce confidence when handling financial transactions.
Design Process
The experience was developed through an iterative UI/UX design process, combining user needs, information architecture, interaction flows, and visual refinement.

I first identified key financial tasks, pain points, and information needs, then translated them into UX priorities and product goals.
From there, I structured the information architecture and user flows, developed wireframes and interface components, and refined the experience through visual and interaction iterations.
Branding
The UUPAY logo is built from overlapping triangular forms to represent the movement and exchange between currencies.
The overlapping shapes create a sense of connection and transformation, reflecting the core function of the platform: moving value from one currency to another.
Transparency within the mark reinforces the idea of clarity and interconnected financial systems, establishing a visual identity that feels simple, modern, and trustworthy.

The experience was organized around four primary areas, with UU Coins integrated into the account and conversion experience.

The dashboard prioritizes total account value, savings, and UU Coin balance, while secondary information is progressively revealed when users need more detail.
This structure allows users to move between monitoring their finances, understanding their available value, and completing currency exchanges without losing context.
05. Wireframes
Wireframe Exploration
I used wireframes to explore the key steps of the UU Coin conversion experience, including input, validation, and confirmation states.
06. Interaction Design
On mobile, the desktop sidebar becomes bottom navigation, keeping key destinations within easy reach. Users can switch between currency and UU Coin accounts without losing their place.
The current balance is prioritized at the top, followed by a scannable transaction list. Expandable details reveal supporting information only when needed.
Users can convert funds into a fixed-term account and earn UU Coins based on the selected term. Visible duration options make it easy to compare terms and choose one.
The completion state confirms a successful transfer and keeps essential transaction details in view. Clear next actions help users continue without retracing previous steps.

Reflection
This project taught me that simplifying a financial experience is not about removing information, but about presenting the right information at the right moment.
Currency exchange involves complex calculations, multiple currencies, and different types of financial value. I focused on making each step easier to understand while keeping important transaction details visible.
Working on UUPAY made me realize that financial products can become complicated very quickly when users are managing different currencies, savings, and UU Coins at the same time. I started to pay more attention to how information is introduced, rather than simply trying to reduce the amount of information on the screen.
This project helped me understand that sometimes the better solution is not to remove information, but to organize it in a way that makes sense to users as they move through the experience.
