Crypto Project

A crypto platform that helps users track their assets, understand portfolio performance, and manage exchanges in one place.

Overview

Mspay is a crypto asset management platform where users can track their portfolio, monitor asset performance, and manage cryptocurrency exchanges from a single dashboard.

Crypto assets are often spread across different exchanges and wallets, making it difficult for users to see their overall holdings and understand how their portfolio is performing.

I led the UX and UI design for the platform, including user flows, information architecture, dashboard structure, and high-fidelity interface design.

01. The Challenge

Business Problem

Research into the Indian market showed that cryptocurrency exchanges could involve multiple steps, unfamiliar exchange rates, and different payment options. Identity verification and transaction security also added friction to the process, especially for users who were less familiar with crypto transactions.

The goal was to make the exchange process easier to follow without removing the necessary verification steps. I designed a guided conversion flow, incorporated local payment options, and added clear feedback throughout the transaction process so users could understand what was happening before moving forward.

One of the hardest trade-offs was balancing verification requirements with conversion. I moved KYC to a later stage, allowing users to explore the platform before asking them to complete identity verification.

Information was organized by priority, with key portfolio metrics shown first and supporting details available when users wanted to explore further.

Before completing transfers or exchanges, users were shown the key transaction details and confirmation steps to reduce accidental actions.

The dashboard focused on the numbers users were most likely to check first, while secondary data was kept available without competing for attention.

The dashboard was divided into smaller sections so portfolio information, assets, transactions, and rewards could be scanned more easily.

Design Process

The project moved from research and flow mapping into wireframes, interface exploration, and high-fidelity design. Feedback from the team helped identify areas where the flow or information structure needed to be adjusted before moving forward.

I worked with product managers and engineers throughout the design process to make sure the proposed flows could support both product requirements and technical constraints.

Branding

For the visual direction, I wanted Mspay to feel reliable and easy to navigate without making the interface feel overly technical. The design uses a structured layout and financial-style UI patterns while keeping the overall interface approachable.

Clear spacing, consistent typography, and a structured information hierarchy were used to make financial data and transaction details easier to scan.

The platform was organized around five main areas:

Key actions were mapped into shorter, more focused flows to reduce unnecessary steps during transactions and account management.

Detailed information was kept available without showing everything at once, helping the main screens stay easier to scan.

05. Wireframes

These wireframes explore how reward information could be organized before moving into the final visual design. The focus was on helping users understand how rewards were earned, what they could be used for, and the steps required to redeem or convert them.

06. Interaction Design

Button-based responses reduce the amount of typing required and give users a clearer set of available actions.

Account linking allows users to select from existing connections instead of entering the same information repeatedly.

A short onboarding flow introduces the platform’s main features and explains how to get started.

Inline validation and input feedback help users catch errors before submitting information, while privacy-related actions are clearly labeled.

Design Phases

The final design brings portfolio tracking, asset information, exchanges, and rewards into a more connected system. Information is organized around the actions users need to take, with transaction details and confirmation steps made easier to review.

Working on a financial product pushed me to think differently about error prevention — every transaction state needed a clear recovery path, not just a clear happy path. I also learned to prioritize information by what a user needs before confirming an action, not just what's available.

If I were to continue developing the product, I would test the main transaction and portfolio flows with users to identify where they hesitate, what information they look for, and which parts of the experience still need improvement.
